About the Opportunity

IMPACT Community Services is seeking a dynamic full-time General Manager Corporate Services, based in Bundaberg, QLD. Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager Corporate Services will play a pivotal role in guiding strategic direction, leading corporate services, and contributing to the development and implementation of the organisation’s Strategic Plan.

It also provides strategic and operational leadership for the shared services functions of finance, information technology, marketing, compliance, workplace health & safety and human resources. 

This senior leadership position is characterised by its focus on strategic oversight rather than day-to-day operations. It’s a high-level role focused on setting expectations for business partners, leveraging commercial opportunities and exploring new revenue streams.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing strategic advice and reports to the Board, Managing Director, and Executive Leadership Team
  • Contributing to the development and achievement of IMPACT’s overall strategic plan
  • Overseeing the delivery of internal services including finance, IT, marketing, compliance, workplace health & safety and human resources 
  • Implementing effective operational systems, processes, and policies
  • Strategising the organisation’s expansion into social enterprise sectors
  • Leading the creation and implementation of strategies to build sustainable revenue channels

This role is based in Bundaberg, QLD and will need to be performed on the ground in Bundaberg. 

About You

To qualify for this role, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in management or a related field, coupled with extensive experience in a senior management position within the corporate setting, government, health or community services or the not-for-profit sector. Your background will demonstrate a proactive approach to challenging the status quo, seeking continuous improvement, and a strong foundation in finance, auditing, marketing and IT.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Demonstrated ability to generate and implement strategic initiatives
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple services and staff, including performance management
  • Knowledge of government contract management and acquittal processes
  • Track record in budget development and oversight
  • ​​Experience in staff counselling, performance management, and working within a compliance framework environment 
  • A proven track record of strategic thinking and ethical, values-based decision-making
  • A confident ability to demonstrate capability and supervise and manage teams effectively
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

As our ideal candidate, you will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, an analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex problems in non-technical terms. You're adept at developing effective working relationships with external stakeholders and coaching and mentoring others to achieve goals.
